Where's the SUPER CHEXX???
I am down the shore In WILDWOOD NJ with my family and am very disappointed to report that there are NO super CHEXX hockey bubbles anywhere in this town. This game(in my opinion) is the greatest invention known to any and all Arcade goers. My brother DCL and i walked for many blocks and checked every single Arcade. Most of them arent really arcades. They are miniature Casinos in which there are lots of glass boxes equipt with metal claws for you to grab ipods and sponge bobs. Resolution: We will be driving up to Ocean City later this week....just for Chexx Hockey.

City Paper Comics Issue Submission...
Cross your fingers. Lets hope the above illustration makes it in to the City Paper Comics Issue this month. Cross them even more and maybe it will be printed in color. Last Monday I went to Skinners Bar for the Philly comics jam. Most of the people I met there are submitting, I can't wait to see their work. Check out what we did at the comics jam website.

Character development
Lately I have been trying to paint with water color and India ink everyday. After I sell a few more pieces I will be switching over to gouache. Here are a few illustrations of some characters I am working on. There are two that will be part of a book I am writing and illustrating. Respect the copyright.2009 Gregory Labold

LEG PAINT AND INDIA INK
A month or so ago my dear friend Carly had me paint on her left leg with acrylic paints. Angelo, another face painter friend, painted on her right leg. I had the pleasure of returning to Carly's home this past Monday for a delicious pot luck dinner. This time I ended up painting with India ink on a few of my friends. Anna Brye sent me this great photo of what i did to her leg(above).

One page books.
Not too long ago I discovered the 8 page zine fashioned from one piece of paper. I have a lot of catching up to do with the rest of the D.I.Y. zine and comics world. These images are meant to be folded into 8 pages using only one cut of your handy dandy scissors. I learned how to do this by doing a you tube search for 8 page zines. It's very fun and easy. Anyone can and should do this. Here are a few samples. I usually pass these out as a form of business card to promote my abilities as a creative creature. Have fun trying to read them upside down!!!

Faber-Castell pitt pen drawings from 08
Here are a hand full of drawings I did while drowning in my own pool of self pity and potential. Most of these were made during the fall of o8 in our studio at PIFAS. A lot of what i make is about making something of myself. Hopefully one day I will get over my self satisfaction and work towards a greater cause for the community. For now it's self help till i can't help myself no longer!!!
